How to add a link to an Instagram story
To add a link to an Instagram story, use the Link sticker: make your story, tap Sticker at the top, choose Link, add your web address and share. People who tap the sticker go straight to that website.

Add a link sticker on iPhone or Android
The steps are the same in the iPhone and Android apps. Stories can't be made on a computer.
- Tap Create (+) at the top, or swipe right anywhere in your feed.
- Scroll to Story at the bottom.
- Tap Record to take a photo, tap and hold to record a video, or swipe up to choose one from your gallery or camera roll.
- Tap Sticker at the top, then choose Link from the list.
- Type or paste the web address you want, then tap Done.
- Drag the sticker where you want it. To remove it, drag it onto Delete at the bottom.
- Tap Your Story in the bottom left to share.
The story, and the link with it, disappears after 24 hours unless you add it to your profile as a story highlight.
Know who tapped: tag the link first
To see story visits as their own source in your analytics, add UTM tags to the address before you paste it into the sticker, for example utm_source=instagram, utm_medium=social and utm_content=story. Then the visits show up under that source in Google Analytics or any other tool that reads UTM tags. The builder below does it in your browser.

- Update the app. Instagram's own advice when a sticker doesn't show is to install the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
- Not every sticker is available to everyone. Instagram says so on its stickers page. If it still isn't there after an update, it may not be available to your account.
- Ads work differently. Link stickers only work in ordinary (organic) stories. Stories ads get a call-to-action sticker placed at the bottom instead, and a story with a Link sticker can't be turned into a partnership ad.
Stories expire, your bio link doesn't
A story link is gone in a day. For the links people should always find, put one link in your Instagram bio that leads to all of them. A free Liite page at liite.co/yourname holds all your links in one place, and you can point story stickers at it too.

Questions
How do I add a clickable link to an Instagram story?
Use the Link sticker. While making your story, tap Sticker at the top, choose Link, add your web address and place the sticker. When people tap it, they go to that website.
Why is there no link option on my Instagram story?
Instagram says not all stickers are available to everyone. Update the app from the App Store or Google Play first. Stories ads don't use the Link sticker either: they get a call-to-action sticker instead.
How do I post a URL link on Instagram?
In a story, use the Link sticker: it's the way Instagram gives you to make a story link clickable. For a link that stays put, use the website field on your profile, for example a Liite page at liite.co/yourname.
How long does a story link stay up?
As long as the story: 24 hours. Add the story to a highlight on your profile if you want the link to stay.
