Canvas pages

Lay out a page yourself: flyers, menus, one-page sites and slides that still fit a phone, with downloads, a brand kit and AI.

A canvas is a page you lay out yourself. Instead of stacking blocks, you place text, images, buttons and shapes where you want them. It's for pages a list of blocks can't express: flyers, event pages, menus, posters, one-page sites and slide decks.

A canvas is one page (tab) of a Pages site, so it lives at liite.co/yourname or liite.co/yourname/tab and shares the site's name, custom domain, password, analytics and versions. It fills the width of the screen: there's no profile header, but the site's tab bar and the Liite badge stay. We publish it as plain HTML and CSS with no scripts of yours, like any page.

Start a canvas

  • New → Design freely: start from a blank canvas, an event flyer, a one-page site or slides.
  • New → Make slides: the same, with the slides starter picked.
  • Create with AI → Canvas: describe the page and get a canvas you can edit (see AI).
  • Import: enter a website address and choose Or copy its design onto a canvas, or paste HTML from an AI tool and choose Or open it on a canvas to edit. An import is an approximation of the original, so check it before you publish.
  • On a site you already have: + Canvas page in the editor adds a canvas next to your other pages, if your plan has room for another page (1 per site on Free, 10 on Pro).

How it fits a phone

A canvas is a stack of sections: full-width bands with a background and a content width. Inside a section or a frame, layers sit in a row or a column with a gap and padding, or float freely inside a frame for overlays and badges. Fixed widths never get wider than the screen, rows set to stack on phones become columns below 640 px, and large type scales down. There's one design for every screen; switch the editor between phone and desktop width to check it.

Editing

  • Add sections, frames, text, images, buttons, shapes and dividers from the toolbar.
  • Click to select; Shift-click or drag across to select several. Drag to move or reorder, with snapping to edges and centres and equal-spacing guides. Hold Alt to measure the distance to another layer.
  • Drag the handles to resize. Double-click text or a button to edit it in place.
  • ⌘G groups layers into a frame and ⌘⇧G ungroups them; ⌘D duplicates. Copy, paste, undo and redo work as you'd expect.
  • In the layers panel, rename, hide, lock and reorder layers. Zoom in and out as you work.

Changes save to your draft as you go. Press Publish when you're ready, as with any page.

Styles

Each layer can have up to four fills (a colour; a linear, radial or angular gradient; or an image), a border, corner radius (one value or per corner), shadows, blur, opacity and rotation. Text has a font, size, weight, line height, letter spacing, colour and alignment.

Fonts other than System, image fills, shadows and blur are part of Pro. On Free they carry a Pro badge: you can try them in the editor, but your published page leaves them out.

Slides and presenting

A canvas can be a slide deck: start with Make slides, or switch the mode in the page settings. Each section is a 16:9 slide. The published page shows one slide per screen and moves with the arrow keys, space or Page Down; press F for full screen. On a phone held upright, slides sit one under another. In the editor, Present shows the deck full screen, even before you publish. Download the deck as a PDF with one slide per page.

Downloads

Download the selected section or layer, or the whole page with nothing selected, from the bottom of the properties panel: PNG, JPEG or WEBP at 1×, 2× or 3× (whole-page images up to 2×), or a PDF. It's made from the same HTML as your published page, at the width you're previewing. Downloads a month: 5 on Free, 100 on Pro and 1,000 on Business.

Brand kit and saved sections

On paid plans:

  • Brand kit (Sites → Brand kit): your main colours, named swatches, a heading and a body font, and a logo. Canvas colours and fonts can use the kit. Change the kit, then choose Republish sites using the kit to update every live site that uses it. Block pages can use it too, with Apply brand kit in the Design panel.
  • Saved sections: save a section or a frame to your workspace library, then insert a copy into any canvas from Library in the toolbar.

Blocks on a canvas

Some things need more than a layer. Add a contact form, an email sign-up, social icons, an embed, a video, an FAQ, a collection list or reviews with + Block in the toolbar. They work as they do on a block page: forms collect messages and sign-ups add subscribers (see Forms and subscribers).

AI

The AI button rewrites the layers you've selected, or the whole page when nothing is selected. You see the suggestion before you apply it, and applying it is one undo step. It runs on your plan's AI credits or your own key (see AI).

Limits

A canvas holds up to 40 layers on Free, 400 on Pro and 2,000 on Business, counting sections and everything inside frames.
