How to use Pastebin
To use Pastebin, paste your text into the box on pastebin.com, choose who can see it and when it should expire, and click Create New Paste. You get a link to share, and anyone with the link can read the text.

Make a paste on Pastebin
- Go to pastebin.com. You can paste as a guest, or sign in to manage your pastes later.
- Paste or type your text in the big box.
- Under the box, pick Syntax Highlighting if it's code, so it's shown in colour.
- Pick Paste Expiration: never, or after a set time.
- Pick Paste Exposure: public, unlisted or private (see below).
- Give it a title if you like, and click Create New Paste.
- Copy the address from your browser and share it.
Public, unlisted or private
This is the setting that matters most. From Pastebin's FAQ:
- Public is the default. Public pastes appear in the site's recent list and archive, and search engines can index them.
- Unlisted pastes don't appear anywhere, but anyone with the link can open them.
- Private pastes are only visible to you when you're signed in. Guests can't make private pastes.
If what you're pasting is meant for one person or a small group, choose unlisted at the very least. Pastebin's acceptable use policy also asks you not to post passwords, personal information or financial data at all.
Limits worth knowing
Pastebin's FAQ lists these, checked on 2 November 2026:
- Size: up to 512 KB per paste, or 10 MB on Pastebin PRO.
- Daily pastes: guests can make 10 new pastes a day, free members 20 and PRO members 250.
- Unlisted and private: free members can keep 10 unlisted and 10 private pastes.
- Links and images: only PRO members can post clickable links and images.
- Deleting: you can only delete pastes you made while signed in. A guest paste stays until it expires, unless you report it.
How Liite's paste differs
Liite has a paste too, at liite.co/new. It's built for sharing writing rather than code:
- Formatting comes along. Paste from a document or a web page, and headings, lists, tables and code blocks are kept, as Markdown. Links stay clickable in pastes made with an account; without one, they show as plain text.
- Images in the paste. Paste or drop up to 5 images without an account, or 10 on a free account, and they appear in place.
- Never listed. Pastes don't appear in any public list. Pastes made without an account are always hidden from search engines; with an account, you choose.
- Expiry and burn after reading. Pick 1 hour, 1 day or 7 days without an account, up to 30 days on a free account, or never on a paid plan. Burn after reading deletes the paste once someone opens it.
- A secret edit link. Without an account, you get a link to edit or delete your paste, shown once. Keep it.
What Liite doesn't have: syntax highlighting for code. Code blocks are shown in a monospaced font, without colours. For code, Pastebin or a code host is the better choice.
Before you paste anything
A paste link is easy to forward, and you can't take it back from someone who already copied the text. A short checklist:
- Remove passwords, API keys and anything that identifies a person.
- Set an expiry if the text is only useful for a while.
- Keep the edit or delete link, or sign in, so you can remove it later.
