Link in bio

Link in bio emoji

The usual link in bio emoji are ๐Ÿ”— (link), ๐Ÿ‘‡ (pointing down) and โ˜๏ธ or ๐Ÿ‘† (pointing up). Put one at the end of your bio line or caption, and use a different emoji on each link on your page so people find the right one fast.

The emoji to copy

These are the ones people use most to point at a link. The names are Unicode's, which is also what screen readers read out.

  • ๐Ÿ”— link: the plain "there's a link" sign
  • ๐Ÿ‘‡ backhand index pointing down: in a bio, pointing to the link below it
  • โ˜๏ธ index pointing up and ๐Ÿ‘† backhand index pointing up: in a caption, pointing up to the profile
  • โฌ‡๏ธ down arrow: a calmer version of ๐Ÿ‘‡
  • ๐Ÿ‘‰ backhand index pointing right: before a link in a list
  • ๐Ÿ“Œ pushpin: for "pinned" or "start here"

Where to put them

In your bio, put the emoji at the end of the line just before your link: "New recipes every Sunday ๐Ÿ‘‡". In a caption, the link is on your profile, above the post, so "Link in bio โ˜๏ธ" points the right way.

One emoji is enough. Screen readers read each one aloud by name, so three pointing hands in a row become a long sentence for someone listening.

An emoji on every link

On your link-in-bio page itself, emoji work as small icons. A ๐ŸŽฌ next to your latest video, โœ‰๏ธ next to your newsletter and ๐Ÿ›๏ธ next to your shop let people scan the list without reading every word.

In Liite, every link can carry an emoji or an image as its thumbnail. Pick one per link and keep the meaning the same across your page: if ๐Ÿ›๏ธ means the shop, don't use it for anything else.

  • ๐ŸŽฌ or โ–ถ๏ธ for a video
  • โœ‰๏ธ or ๐Ÿ“ฉ for a newsletter or email
  • ๐Ÿ›๏ธ or ๐Ÿ›’ for a shop
  • ๐Ÿ“… for booking
  • ๐ŸŽง for music or a podcast
  • ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ for tickets

A real example

The Classic links template, compiled by the same code that builds every Liite page. Each link has its own emoji thumbnail: ๐ŸŽฌ for the latest video, โœ‰๏ธ for the newsletter, ๐Ÿ›๏ธ for the shop. The name is a sample.

Questions

What is the link in bio emoji?
There's no single official one. The most used are ๐Ÿ”— (named "link" in Unicode), ๐Ÿ‘‡ to point down to a link in a bio, and โ˜๏ธ or ๐Ÿ‘† to point up from a caption to the profile.
Should I point up or down?
Point at where the link is from where the text sits. In your bio, the link usually sits just below your bio text, so ๐Ÿ‘‡. In a caption, your profile is above the post, so โ˜๏ธ or ๐Ÿ‘†.
Can I put an emoji on each link on my Liite page?
Yes. Every link can have an emoji or an image as its thumbnail. Pick it when you edit the link.
Do emoji look the same on every phone?
No. Each platform draws its own version, so ๐Ÿ”— on an iPhone looks a little different from ๐Ÿ”— on Android. The meaning stays the same.
