Short links
Amazon link shortener
To shorten an Amazon link, cut it down to amazon.com/dp/ followed by the product's 10-character code, the ASIN. If you share lots of products, put them on one page and share a single short address for it instead.
Why Amazon links get so long
A product link copied from Amazon often carries the product's name, your search words and tracking text. None of that is needed to open the product.
The part that matters is the ASIN, Amazon's code for each item. You'll find it on the product page under Product details. Amazon's own Associates help uses the format amazon.com/dp/ASIN, so a link like amazon.com/dp/B000000000 opens the same product.
If you earn commission as an Amazon Associate
Amazon's Associates programme policies say you must not use a link shortening service in a way that makes it unclear you're linking to Amazon. They also say you must not cloak or hide the site your links come from.
So label every link as going to Amazon, and don't hide Amazon links behind a framed or cloaked short link. The same policies also exclude purchases that reach Amazon through a link that redirects without the customer clicking on your site, so read them before you put a redirect between your audience and Amazon.
One short link to all your picks
The cleanest set-up for creators: a Liite page listing your picks, each linking straight to Amazon with its own label, and one short address for the page that you put in your bio, video description or newsletter.
People tap your short link, see the list, and click the product they want. Each click is theirs, on your page, and goes directly to Amazon.
- Start from the Creator template, the example on this page.
- Rename the Shop my picks link and add one link per product, such as "Chef's knife (Amazon)".
- Publish, then make a short link such as liite.co/x/picks that points at your page.
- Use the short link everywhere you'd have pasted a long Amazon link.
What the short link adds
A short link is an address you can say out loud or print, and you can change where it points later without changing what you've already posted. Liite counts clicks by day, referrer, country and device, without cookies, and gives every link a QR code.
A real example
The Creator template, compiled by the same code that builds every Liite page, renamed for a sample cooking creator. Each pick would link straight to its Amazon product page; one short link points at the page.

Questions
- Is there a way to shorten Amazon URLs?
- Yes. Keep amazon.com/dp/ and the product's ASIN, and delete the rest. Or make a Liite short link, such as liite.co/x/knife, that points at the product or at a page of your picks.
- Why is the Amazon link so long?
- Copied links usually include the product name, the search that found it and tracking parameters. The product only needs its ASIN, the 10-character code under Product details.
- Can Amazon Associates use a link shortener?
- Amazon's programme policies say a link shortener must not make it unclear that you're linking to Amazon, and that you must not cloak your links. Label each link as going to Amazon and read the current policies before you rely on a redirect.
- How do I copy a shortened Amazon link?
- Trim the link to amazon.com/dp/ and the ASIN, then copy it from the address bar. With Liite, copy the short link from Links in the dashboard.
