WiFi QR code template

This WiFi QR code template is set up for a guest network. Type your own network name and password, scan the preview to check it joins, and download a print-ready code for your wall, table or welcome pack.

Free, no sign-up. Made with our free qr code generator, which runs in your browser.

What's included

  • A sample guest network ("Guest WiFi") with WPA security, in the WIFI: format iPhone and Android cameras read
  • Error correction level Q, which restores about 25% of a damaged code: useful for a sign that gets handled
  • A 2,048 px PNG for printing, plus an SVG for any size
  • Special characters in your network name or password escaped for you
  • Made in your browser: your password isn't sent anywhere

How to change it

  1. Type your network name exactly as your devices show it, including capitals and spaces.
  2. Choose the security type (WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 for most routers, or No password) and type the password.
  3. Tick Hidden network only if your router doesn't broadcast the name.
  4. Scan the preview with your phone to check it joins, then download it. Print it with a line like "Scan to join our WiFi" and leave white space round the code.

Questions

Will the WiFi QR code stop working?

Not by itself. The network name and password are stored in the pattern, so nothing expires. It stops working if you change the password, so make a new code when you do.

Do guests need an app to scan it?

Usually not. The iPhone Camera app and most Android camera apps or Google Lens read WiFi codes and ask before joining.

Is it safe to print my WiFi password as a QR code?

Anyone who scans it can join and can read the password. Put it only where you'd share the password anyway, and use a separate guest network if your router has one.
