Menu QR codes
QR code for your restaurant menu
Put your menu on a page at liite.co/yourplace, make a free QR code that opens it, and print the code for tables, windows and takeaway bags. When the menu changes you edit the page, and the codes you already printed keep working.
Why the code should open a page, not a file
A QR code only holds an address. If it opens a PDF stored somewhere you can't update, every price change means new codes on every table.
Point the code at an address that stays the same, such as your Liite page, and change what's on the page instead. The code on the table never needs to change.
Two ways to get the menu online
If your menu is already designed as a PDF, upload it as an uploaded site and it opens in a phone-friendly viewer with zoom and search. Upload a new PDF to the same site when it changes. On Free, uploaded sites need a card on file and go offline 7 days after you last publish, so a year-round menu needs a paid plan.
Or build the menu as a page. A collection holds the dishes with their prices and a Collection list block shows them in a menu layout, so changing a price is one field. Pages on Free don't expire.
Make and print the QR code
Open the free QR code generator, paste your page's address and download the code. It's a static code: the address is stored in the pattern itself, so it doesn't expire and doesn't depend on us.
- Download an SVG for print, so it stays sharp at any size, or a PNG for screens
- Keep strong contrast: a dark code on a light background
- Test it with two phones before you print a batch
- Add a line next to it, such as "Scan for today's menu", so people know what they'll get
How guests scan it
They point the phone's camera at the code and tap the link that appears. iPhones and most Android phones do this without an app, and your menu opens in the browser.
A real example
The Restaurant template as it comes: a highlighted link to the menu, booking, opening hours and directions. Point your QR code at this page and swap the menu link for a Collection list block or your PDF.

Questions
- How do I make a QR code for my restaurant menu?
- Get your menu online first, as a Liite page or an uploaded PDF. Then paste its address into the free QR code generator and download the code as an SVG for print. Test it before you print a batch.
- Can I create a free QR code for my restaurant menu?
- Yes. The QR code generator is free, needs no sign-up and makes static codes that don't expire. The menu page on the Free plan is free too.
- Do I need a new QR code when the menu changes?
- No. The code opens your page's address, and that stays the same. Change the menu on the page and every printed code shows the new one.
- Can guests order from the QR code menu?
- They can send an order request if you show your dishes in a Products block with ordering on. You confirm the order and take payment yourself: Liite doesn't take payments.
