Can you sell digital products on TikTok Shop?
Yes, but only if TikTok invites you: in the US, TikTok Shop limits "virtual goods" to invite-only sellers, who must be approved before listing any. Approved sellers can sell types such as software, digital games, prepaid subscriptions, online courses, gift cards and event tickets, with a $500 price cap per listing. Everyone else can still sell digital products through TikTok by linking to a store elsewhere.

This guide is based on TikTok Shop's US Seller University pages, read on 2 November 2026. Rules differ by country and change often, so check them again before you list.
What TikTok Shop counts as virtual goods
TikTok Shop defines virtual goods as non-physical products delivered electronically: accessed, activated or used digitally, with nothing shipped. They're covered by the Virtual Goods Requirements and the Restricted Products Policy, which lists virtual goods under "invite-only approval".
The permitted types it names, in a list it says isn't exhaustive, are:
- Software and applications, delivered by licence key, activation code or secure download
- Digital games, delivered as a redemption code
- In-game content such as expansion packs, DLC and in-game items
- Game subscriptions and memberships, prepaid only
- Other digital subscriptions, prepaid access to cloud tools or digital services
- Online courses, including pre-recorded videos, live lessons and course materials
- Virtual gift cards for approved platforms or services
- Virtual tickets for online or hybrid events, and concert tickets redeemed through a code
Ebooks, templates, presets and printables, which many creators sell, aren't named. Don't assume they're allowed.
What's banned
TikTok Shop lists these as prohibited virtual goods:
- Unlicensed gambling games, including sweepstake casinos, and currency bundles for them
- Stored-value items such as course credits, loadable tickets and gift certificates
- Subscriptions that renew automatically
- Resale tickets
For courses, it also bans unrealistic outcome claims, such as guaranteed jobs or income.
The rules if you're approved
The Virtual Goods Requirements set limits that apply to every seller:
- Price cap: a listing's total price can't exceed $500.
- Spending cap: sales of $10,000 or more to one customer within 24 hours aren't allowed.
- Delivery: you must deliver within 2 business days of the order reaching "Awaiting Shipment". If the order isn't marked delivered by then, TikTok Shop may cancel it automatically, and that counts against your seller-fault cancellation rate.
- Redemption: it happens outside TikTok Shop, for example on your website. The listing must explain how buyers receive and redeem the product.
- No sending buyers elsewhere to pay: sellers and creators must not redirect customers to other platforms to buy or pay outside TikTok Shop.
- Refunds: virtual goods are non-returnable and non-refundable, subject to TikTok Shop's refund policy and the law. If a buyer asks customer service for a refund anyway, you must respond within 2 business days for products up to $100, or 4 for more expensive ones.
Breaking these rules can mean removed listings, account health points deducted, or losing the right to sell.
How to sell digital products on TikTok without TikTok Shop
If you haven't been invited, or you sell something that isn't on the list, use TikTok to find buyers and sell somewhere else:
- Pick a platform that takes payment and delivers files, such as Etsy or Gumroad. Our guide to selling digital products compares the options and their fees.
- Add a link to your TikTok bio. Not every account can; how to add a link to your TikTok bio explains who can and how.
- Point that link at one page that lists your products, a free sample and your other channels. A link in bio page works for TikTok too.
- Make videos that show the product in use, and tell viewers the link is in your bio.
Liite doesn't have a checkout or file delivery, so it can't take the sale itself. It can be the page your bio link opens, with a link to each product on the platform that does.

Questions
Can I sell ebooks, templates or printables on TikTok Shop?
They aren't among the types TikTok Shop US names in its Virtual Goods Requirements, which list software, games, subscriptions, online courses, gift cards and tickets. The list is described as non-exhaustive, so if you're invited to sell virtual goods, ask TikTok Shop seller support before you plan around one of these.
How do I get approved to sell digital products on TikTok Shop?
TikTok Shop US says virtual goods are invite-only and sellers must be approved before listing them. Its requirements page doesn't describe a way to apply, so there's no public form to fill in. Watch your Seller Center for an invitation.
Can I get a refund on a digital product bought on TikTok Shop?
Generally no. TikTok Shop US says virtual goods are non-returnable and non-refundable, subject to its refund policy and the law. Concert tickets are the exception when the event is moved, postponed or cancelled.
Does this apply outside the US?
We read the US rules only. TikTok Shop runs separate seller sites by country, so check the Seller University for your own country before you list anything.
