How to add a link to your TikTok bio

To add a link to your TikTok bio, tap Profile, then Edit profile, then Add next to Links, and follow the steps. You can only do this if you have at least 1,000 followers or a Verified Business Account. If you have neither, the option isn't there yet.

TikTok's help centre gives two ways in:

  • General TikTok Accounts (personal accounts, which most creators use) can add a website link once they have at least 1,000 followers.
  • Verified Business Accounts can add a website link to promote a website. Verifying a business is a separate step: you submit business details and documents, and TikTok says it can take up to 5 business days.

TikTok advises against switching back and forth between a personal and a business account, because your verification isn't kept. If you post personal content and also promote a business, TikTok suggests two accounts.

These are the steps from TikTok's help page:

  1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
  2. Tap Edit profile.
  3. Next to Links, tap Add.
  4. Follow the steps to add your website.

The link then shows on your profile, and people who tap it see the page in TikTok's in-app browser.

  • Links that open other apps. TikTok no longer supports links that open or log you into other social media apps. You can still link to those platforms' websites.
  • Chains of redirects. To protect people from scams and phishing, TikTok limits how people can browse chains of external links in its in-app browser, and may ask them to open the page in their own browser instead. TikTok recommends direct links.

That second point matters if your link goes through a tracker or a link shortener that bounces through several addresses. Paste your link below to see every hop it takes before it lands. If you see more than one redirect, link to the final address instead.

TikTok gives you one website link. To share your shop, your YouTube channel, your newsletter and your latest collab at the same time, make that link a page that lists them.

A free Liite page at liite.co/yourname does this. It's a direct link to a fast, plain page with no redirects in between, so it fits TikTok's advice. Add your links with an emoji or image on each, paste a TikTok or YouTube link to show it as a player, and see which links get tapped in cookie-free analytics. Change the page whenever you like; the link on your TikTok profile stays the same.

Before you have 1,000 followers

You can still point people somewhere:

  • Put your other handles in your bio text. For example, "Full recipes on YouTube: @yourname". It isn't clickable, but people can search for it.
  • Get the page ready. Set up your Liite page now, so the link is ready to add on the day you reach 1,000.

For Instagram, where any account can add up to 5 links, see how to add a link in your Instagram bio.

Questions

Why can't I add a link in my TikTok bio?

TikTok only lets you add a website link if you have at least 1,000 followers or a Verified Business Account. If you have neither, you can't add one yet.

Do you need 1,000 followers to add a link on TikTok?

On a General (personal) TikTok Account, yes: TikTok says you need at least 1,000 followers. A Verified Business Account can add a website link without that minimum, but verifying a business is a separate process with its own documents.

How do I add a link to my TikTok bio?

In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom, tap Edit profile, then tap Add next to Links and follow the steps.

Can I add more than one link to my TikTok bio?

TikTok's help page talks about adding a website link and doesn't promise more than one. To share several, add one link to a page that lists them all, such as a free Liite page at liite.co/yourname.

Why does my TikTok link open a warning?

TikTok limits browsing through chains of links in its in-app browser, so people may be asked to open the page in their phone's browser. TikTok recommends linking straight to the page you mean.
