Open Graph image generator
Pick a template, type your title and add your logo or a photo. You get a 1200×630 PNG for link previews and the meta tags that tell Facebook, LinkedIn, X and WhatsApp to use it.
Free, no sign-up. Runs in your browser. Nothing you type or upload is sent to us or stored.
Get a share image without making one
Every Liite page gets its own share image automatically, in your page's theme. You can set your own title, description and image per page when you want something specific.
How to use it
- Choose a template and type the title you want people to see in the preview.
- Add a subtitle, your address, a logo or a background photo if you like, and set the colours.
- Download the PNG, upload it to your site and paste the meta tags into your page's head.
What an Open Graph image is
When you share a link, apps like Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Slack and X fetch the page and look for Open Graph tags in its head. The og:image tag points at the picture they show in the preview card. Without one, the app either shows no picture or picks a random image from the page, which is often a logo cut in half or a tracking pixel.
1200 by 630 pixels is the size that works almost everywhere. It's a ratio of about 1.91 to 1, so large preview cards show the whole image without cropping, and it stays sharp on high-resolution screens.
Making text that reads in a small preview
Previews are often shown at a few hundred pixels wide on a phone, so the text needs to be big. This generator sets the title as large as it can while keeping it inside the safe area, and shrinks it only when your title is long. If a title is too long even at the smallest size, it's cut with an ellipsis, which is your cue to shorten it.
Keep important text away from the edges, because some apps crop a little. Strong contrast between the text and the background matters more than the font. If you use a photo behind the text, the generator lays a wash of your background colour over it so the title stays readable.
Adding the image to your page
Upload the PNG somewhere public, such as your site's images folder, and copy its full address starting with https. Paste that address into the box below the preview and copy the meta tags into the head of your page. The twitter:card tag set to summary_large_image asks X for the large card instead of a small square.
Apps cache previews, so a changed image can take a while to show. Check the result with a link preview checker before you share the link widely.
Your files stay on your device
The image is drawn in your browser. Your title, logo and photos aren't uploaded to us or stored anywhere.
Questions
What size should an Open Graph image be?
1200 × 630 pixels. It's the size Facebook and LinkedIn recommend, and X, WhatsApp, Slack and Discord show it well too.
Do I need separate images for each network?
No. One 1200 × 630 image covers the large preview on almost every app. Some networks crop it slightly, so keep text away from the edges.
Why does my old image still show?
Apps cache link previews for days. Facebook and LinkedIn have their own tools to refresh a URL; other apps update when their cache expires.
Can I use my own font?
The generator uses the site's font. For a different typeface, export the image and edit it in a design app, or use the template as a starting point.
Do Liite pages need this?
No. Every Liite page gets a share image automatically in your page's theme, and you can set your own image per page if you prefer.
