Orange QR code

We've set the code to burnt orange (#c2410c), because bright orange on white is too pale to scan. Change the sample link to yours and download.

Darkness, not hue
The tool's warning uses luminance contrast, the same measure as WCAG. A code scans when its modules are clearly darker than the background, whatever the colour.

Quiet zone
A QR code needs a clear margin four modules wide on every side. Our download has a two-module border, so leave extra white space around it in your layout.

A QR code you can keep changing

The code above always opens the same thing. Every Liite page comes with its own QR code that counts scans, and you can change the page behind it any time without reprinting.

Orange QR code: what to know

Which orange works

Burnt orange (#c2410c) gives 5.2:1 against white. Bright orange (#f97316) only gives 2.8:1, which the tool flags.

Orange is the hardest of these colours to get right. Pick a burnt or rust orange for the code, and use bright orange for the frame or call to action around it.

Replace the sample link

The code on load points to example.com so you can see the colour. Paste your own link before you download. Then scan the preview with your phone, ideally in the light where the code will be used.
