Instagram grid maker
Choose a photo or a design and split it into rows of three tiles. Each tile is numbered in the order to post it, so the picture comes together on your profile.
Free, no sign-up. Runs in your browser. Nothing you type or upload is sent to us or stored.
Link your grid to a page
Your profile has room for one link. Make it a free Liite page with your links, a gallery of your best posts and buttons for the places people can find you.
How to use it
- Choose an image, or drop it on the box.
- Pick the tile shape and how many rows of three you want.
- Move the crop until the part you want fills the grid.
- Download the zip and post the tiles in number order, starting with 1.
Why the order is backwards
Instagram puts your newest post in the top-left corner of your profile and pushes everything else along. So the tile that should end up bottom right has to go first, and the top-left tile goes last. The numbers on the preview, and the file names in the zip, are already in posting order: post tile 1, then 2, and so on. Sort the files by name and you're done.
Post all the tiles in one go if you can. If you post something else in between, every tile after it shifts one place and the picture breaks apart.
Square, 4:5 or 3:4 tiles
Instagram's profile grid now shows posts as 3:4 portraits, while feed posts can be up to 4:5 tall (checked October 2026). Grid 3:4 tiles (1080 × 1440) line up exactly on the profile. Portrait 4:5 tiles (1080 × 1350) look their best in the feed, and the profile grid trims a little from their top and bottom. Square tiles (1080 × 1080) are the classic look, and the grid shows them with a small crop at the sides.
Keep text and faces away from the edges of each tile, so the crop on the grid and the small gaps between tiles don't cut through them.
Getting a sharp result
A grid of three rows is 3240 pixels wide, so start with the largest version of your image you have. A small photo still works, but each tile is enlarged and may look soft. The tiles download as JPG by default, which Instagram handles well; pick PNG for designs with flat colour and text.
Your image is cut up in your browser. It's never uploaded to us.
Questions
How many tiles can I make?
One to five rows of three, so 3 to 15 tiles. Three rows (9 tiles) fills the first screen of most profiles.
Which tile do I post first?
Tile 1, which is the bottom-right piece of the picture. Post them in number order and the last one, the top-left piece, lands top left.
Can I post the tiles as one carousel instead?
A carousel shows one tile at a time, so the picture only comes together on your profile if each tile is its own post. For a swipeable panorama, use the X carousel maker, which works for Instagram carousels too.
Will pinned posts break my grid?
Pinned posts sit at the start of your profile, before the grid. Unpin them, or plan the grid to start after them.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The tiles are made in your browser and saved straight to your device.
