Instagram tiles size
Each tile here is 1080 × 1440 pixels. That is 3:4, the tallest shape Instagram keeps without cropping, at the full 1080-pixel width it stores. So Instagram has nothing to trim or shrink when you upload a tile.
Your whole image should be three tiles wide and three tall: 3240 × 4320 pixels. A smaller image still works, but each tile is enlarged to fit and may look soft. Pick 4:5 or square from the tile shape buttons if you'd rather match an older grid.
How to make 9 tiles on Instagram
Choose your photo, check the preview and download the zip. You get nine files, named so that sorting by name puts them in posting order. Post each one as its own post, starting with tile 1 and ending with tile 9, which lands top left.
