Auto repair invoice template
A garage invoice with parts and labour on separate lines and the customer's vehicle in the To box. Change the job, parts and rates, and print it at collection.
Free, no sign-up. Made with our free invoice generator, which runs in your browser.
What's included
- A repair order number and the invoice due on the day, as most garages are paid at collection
- The vehicle's make, model, plate and mileage under the customer's name
- Parts as separate lines, with labour shown as hours times your hourly rate
- Tax set per line, so you can leave labour untaxed or tax it differently if your rules say so
- A note on returning old parts
How to change it
- Replace the vehicle details and mileage. Keep the plate and mileage on every invoice; it makes warranty claims easier.
- Add a line for each part and one for labour. Put the hours in the quantity and your labour rate in the price.
- Set the tax on each line to the rate you charge, or clear it. The 8% here is only a sample.
- Change the payment terms if you invoice fleet customers: set a due date of 14 or 30 days.
Questions
What goes on an auto repair invoice?
Your shop's details, the customer and vehicle (make, model, plate, mileage), a repair order or invoice number, each part with its price, the labour time and rate, any tax, the total and how it was paid. Some states and countries have their own rules for repair invoices, so check yours.
Should parts and labour be on separate lines?
Yes. Customers can see what the parts cost and how long the job took, and you can tax parts and labour differently if your rules require it.
Can I print it for the customer?
Yes. Download the PDF and print it, or email it to the customer.
