How to change it
- Change the property address and the month in each line. Next month, copy the invoice and update the month and number.
- Remove the parking or utility lines if you don't charge them, or add others such as a late fee your lease allows.
- Set the due date to match the lease: the template gives 5 days.
Questions
Do I need to send a rent invoice every month?
That depends on your lease and what your tenant needs. Many tenants pay by standing order without one, but a monthly invoice helps when rent changes, when you recharge utilities, or when a business tenant needs it for their books.
Can I use this for a commercial rental property?
Yes. Put the business tenant's name and address in the To box. If you charge tax on the rent where you are, set the tax name and rate, and add your tax number.
Is this a rent receipt?
No, it asks for payment. Once the tenant has paid, change the heading to "Receipt" and add a note that it was paid and when, or use the receipt template.
