What's included

  • The heading "Quotation", a quotation number and today's date
  • Products with quantity and unit price, and the amount for each line
  • A percentage discount taken off before tax
  • GST at 9% (Singapore's current rate) on each line, totalled for you
  • A validity date 14 days after the quotation date, delivery terms and payment terms
  • A PDF download made in your browser

How to change it

  1. Put in your company details and your customer's, including who handles purchasing.
  2. Replace the sample products with yours. Use one line per product so the customer can match it to their purchase order.
  3. Pick your currency and tax name (GST, VAT or sales tax) and set the rate, or clear the rate if you don't charge tax.
  4. Change or remove the discount, edit the delivery and payment terms, then download the PDF.

Questions

Is a quotation the same as a quote?

Yes. "Quotation" is the longer word for the same document: a price you offer for goods or work before the customer agrees to buy. Change the heading to "Quote" if your customers say that instead.

What is a simple quotation format?

Your company and the customer at the top, a quotation number and date, then one line per item with quantity, unit price and amount. Below that, any discount, the tax and the total, followed by how long the prices hold and your delivery and payment terms.

What is a proposal quotation?

Usually a quotation sent as part of a sales proposal: the priced list of what the customer would buy. If the customer only needs the prices and terms, this quotation on its own is enough.
