Apple Mail signature with image: what to know

This page starts the email signature generator for this case. For every option and how to use it, see the email signature generator.

Linked image or dragged-in image

This tool links to an image that's already online, such as your profile photo on your website. The image is loaded when someone opens your email, so it stays small and the same picture shows everywhere you use the signature. Some mail apps hold back linked images until the reader allows them.

Dragging an image into Mail adds the picture to the signature itself. That works for Apple Mail on your Mac, but you'd need to add it again in every other mail app you use.

For a sharp result, use a square image at least twice the size it's shown at: 128 × 128 pixels for the Stacked layout, 144 × 144 for Photo beside.

Questions

How do I add a picture to my Apple Mail signature?

Put your photo or logo's https link in the Photo or logo URL field above, press Copy signature, and paste it into Mail > Settings > Signatures. Or drag an image file into the signature preview in Mail.

Why doesn't my image show on iPhone?

Mail on iPhone only takes text in its signature settings, so the image signature has to be set on your Mac. Emails you send from your Mac still show the image to people reading on a phone.

Does this tool host my image?

No. It links to an image that's already online. Upload your photo or logo to your website or another host first, then paste its https link.
