Blur PNG image
Open a PNG, blur all of it or just the parts you pick, and download a PNG again. Transparent backgrounds stay transparent, so logos, stickers and cut-outs still sit cleanly on any colour.

At a glance
- Why PNG
- PNG uses lossless compression and supports full alpha transparency.
- Source: developer.mozilla.org, checked 2026-11
- Transparency is kept
- The PNG download keeps the alpha channel. Blur and pixelate mix transparency the same way they mix colour, so a blurred edge fades out softly.
- JPG would lose it
- JPEG doesn't support an alpha channel, so choosing JPG here fills transparent areas with white.

- Size limit
- Images are worked on at up to 4,096 pixels on the long side; larger ones are scaled down to that.
Share the safe copy on your page
Put the cleaned-up image, a document or a whole gallery on a free Liite page. Images are shrunk and stripped of location data before they upload.
Blur PNG image: what to know
This page starts the blur image for this case. For every option and how to use it, see the blur image.
Blurring logos and cut-outs
Blur spreads the edge of a transparent shape outwards, so a blurred logo gets a soft halo rather than a hard outline. That's useful for a glow or a background layer behind sharp text.
To blur only the inside of a shape and keep its outline, draw a box inside the shape instead of blurring the whole image.
Questions
How can I blur a PNG image?
Choose the PNG above. It starts on Whole image with PNG as the download format. Adjust the strength, or pick Areas I pick to blur only some parts, then download.
Will the transparent background turn white?
Not as long as the format is PNG. Only a JPG download fills transparency with white.
How do I make a PNG less blurry?
This tool adds blur; it can't remove it. A blurry PNG usually comes from being enlarged, so go back to a larger original if you have one.
